Schedule of Events released for Scott 1817 Seminole War Battle
Two days of great activities are planned at Landmark Park this weekend as the 2nd annual Scott 1817 Seminole War Battle takes place in Dothan, Alabama!
The schedule of events includes a memorial service, talks on history, a chance to meet the Prophet Josiah Francis “in person,” musket firings and weapons demonstrations, living history camps of both Native Americans and frontier settlers and, of course, two big battle reenactments! The cost of admission for the public is $4 for adults (13+) and $3 for kids (3-12).
The event normally takes place in Chattahoochee, Florida, but was moved to Landmark Park for this year due to hurricane damage there. Visitors with a Chattahoochee address on their ID will be admitted free as will reenactors planning to take part in the event. It will return to Chattahoochee next year making this a great one-time opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the Creek War and First Seminole War at a wonderful venue in Dothan!
Here’s this year’s schedule of events. We look forward to seeing you there for two great days of fun!
Landmark Park is located at 430 Landmark Drive, Dothan, Alabama (off U.S. 431 just 2.8 miles north of the Ross Clark Circle). Gates open at 9 a.m. on both days.
