Historic Blakeley is also the scene of the Battle of Fort Blakeley, one of the last major battles of the War Between the States (or Civil War). Visitors can explore miles of original fortifications and approach trenches, as well as the site of an early Alabama city that once rivaled Mobile. The park also features hiking trails, picnic areas, campgrounds and a wide variety of other outdoor settings.
