The Circle Hill Cemetery near Two Egg – also called Pine Level Cemetery – unveiled a new Veterans Memorial just in time for today’s annual church homecoming.

The memorial consists of crosses and flags facing Circle Hill Road, each one honoring a veteran buried in the cemetery. A total of 36 crosses were erected at a cost of around $1,500, not including donated labor by Bill Beck and others to install them. Two Egg TV carried them to JCARC in Marianna for lettering. Money for the project was provided by the Cemetery Committee and through donations.

Twenty-eight known veterans of the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the wars in the Middle East are buried at Circle Hill. The additional crosses will allow for more names to be added to the memorial over coming years.

The historic cemetery, which actually predates adjacent Circle Hill Baptist Church, was established by local residents in the 1870s and remains active today. It was one of the first in the area to display U.S. flags year-round on the graves of veterans. It also has a memorial, lighted flagpole.

This short video below will give you a better look at the new memorial. Circle Hill Baptist Church and Circle Hill Cemetery are located at 7170 Circle Hill Rd, Sneads, Florida. The map at the bottom of this page will help you find it.
